Backstage at the Rodarte show, held at the Gagosian Gallery, it was a flurry of delicate fabrics in soft shades, Native American beading, cut-out boots in burgundy, navy and forest green, and then what seemed like a non sequitur: a couple of red sequined pieces hanging in off to the side, designated for the models Karlie Kloss and Lindsey Wixson.
Those are ‘glamorous girls’ — they are wearing a nail color that will be out for holiday called Jessica Rabbit,” explained the manicurist Deborah Lippmann, holding a bottle of Lippmann Collection polish full of a matching glittery red shade. “Caramel kept coming up as an inspiration, so the other girls are wearing a sunset-y caramel with a little bit of gold shimmer called No More Drama,” she said, adding that the name was also serving as her mantra for the week. (Lippmann was also responsible for Lady Gaga’s yellow manicure at the Grammys on Sunday.)
